2019 Most Exciting, Cool Swings and Hideouts for your Child and Why Every Child Needs One

Have you ever stopped and watched your child in action and wondered “where does he/she get all that energy or “I wish I had their energy”.  If you have then you know exactly how difficult it is to keep your child entertained and happy.  I know because I have a son that is very busy.  One great solution for keeping your child active and happy and giving them endless fun at the same time is buying them a swing.  Swings are great to increase vestibular strength.  If you are wondering what the heck is vestibular, I will make it short and sweet.  Your vestibular system gives your brain information about balance, motion, and spatial awareness.  This information helps your body coordinate that movement and maintain balance.

Take a look at these exciting, fun, sturdy swings for your child!

This Rectangle Platform Swing is such fun. It holds up to 250 pounds. Very well made and easy to assemble. This price won’t last long. But it is an amazing durable swing that will provide so much fun for your child.

This is a great swing. It is a Full Support Swing for children that might be bigger that need a little of extra support while swinging. You have the ability to have it sit up or have the swing tilted back for more support. This is the teenage swing which goes up to 180 pounds. If you require a smaller swing this is the link to the next one down.

Play Platoon Flying Saucer Tree Swing is a very sturdy swing. Don’t let the name fool you, it can be hung outside or indoors Holds up to 300 pounds and the company gives you a lifetime warranty. This swing comes fully assembled, so you can’t beat that.  This is still is one of the favorites for my son. You can sit on this with friends, lay down and stand up if you like.

Hugglepod is a great versatile swing. They are very sturdy. It can double as a hideaway for your child. Easily fits up to 3 children inside. Great reading nook. It can be placed on a rotational spin hook so the children can spin while in the swing. Holds up to 250 pounds.

Trekassy 660lb Giant 60″ Platform Tree Swing for Kids and Adults Waterproof with Durable Steel Frame and 2 Hanging Straps. We have this swing hanging in my son’s sensory room. This is a great swing for several reasons: 1) It holds 600 pounds 2. It is big enough for multiple friends, so great for social skills 3. Can be hung up outside or indoors (we have it hung up indoors) 4) versatile, can sit, lay down or stand while swinging  This is a great choice also for children that cannot sit up for it is large enough to lay down in. You can use bean bags or pillows in the swing so the child is propped up more.

Hope this helps with some fun choices for your child that will bring a smile to their faces long into the future.

Organizing Your Medical and Developmental Records

What to do with all these doctor/therapy reports

Ok, you now have a regular schedule of doctors and therapist appointments.  You are proud of yourself for getting yourself and your child to each one and keeping them straight in your head.  But every appointment they give you more and more paperwork.  Then the insurance company calls and needs an evaluation from Dr. A to get a treatment approved from Dr. B.  You start feverishly shuffling through all the papers on your table hoping to find what you are looking for. An hour later and tons of stress you find it.  Stop, there is a better way to do this and keep what little of your sanity is left.

Why Organize?

It only makes sense that you organize these reports because chances are you will need them over and over again.  You will always be advocating for your child and these reports are valuable in proving a need is there for a particular treatment, therapy, service or medical equipment.

Important things to Keep

1)Dates for surgeries, procedures, hospital visits to include ER visits  2) developmental evaluation reports  3) list of all medications and prescribing doctors  4) list of medical equipment and company purchased from and any warranties on said equipment 5) contact information for specialist, therapists, dentist, case managers, hospital and insurance company  6) medical test and results 7) vaccination records  8) Calendar of past and future appointments 9) list of allergies 10)birth certificate 11) About me page ( To help people working with your child better understand them and any triggers they might have)

How to organize all this information

Once all your records are gathered you can do a couple of things with them 1)  You can create a folder on your computer and have subfolders in that folder such as medications, equipment, etc and scan your records into the computer under the correct folder headings. If you do it this way make sure you back up your computer. If you are like me you need to be able to put your hands on your documentation quickly when you need it. I would then suggest that you organize them nicely in a Medical Grade Binder These binders are great because you can wipe them clean, they are sturdy and hold over 600 pages of documentation and are hard to destroy.

For your records keeping forms, you can either purchase a Ready Made Medical Records Book with forms that you may or may not need or you can purchase a downloadable package of 12 organizational forms that you can copy over and over making organizing your child’s records easier. Forms such as diagnostic reports, immunizations, lab results, all about me and more. Once you purchase the forms you will receive a zip file with all the forms for you to keep and use over and over.

The last way to organize your records is through an online records portal such as My Health Record . There is pro’s and cons in using these types of services. They can be difficult to upload your documents, not accessible when you need them or can cost you monthly fees and more.

Hope this information helps. You will be glad you did this when a doctor calls and says he needs a past medical record.

Happy organizing 🙂

This birthday party was the most fun! The staff was fantastic.  I cannot give them enough credit for how amazing they were.  The made sure we were taken care of.  They handled prepping, clean up, make sure all guests plates and cups were full.  We did not lift a finger.  Miss Kimberly was engaging and sweet and has done a wonderful job with Sensory Towne. Best birthday ever!
